House is Moving Along :)

We went to see the house last night, and we were excited to see that it is moving along nicely. They had the brick on pallets ready to go on the house soon. The roof was installed and all the electric had been run throughout the house. The air ducts were all installed and in place. The driveway was done and all the windows were installed now. After the house, we had to stop at our new FAVORITE Mexican restaurant Alicia's to grab some dinner. Ben's 28th birthday was last Thursday. We had our celebrations with all my side of the family for him, and we will celebrate with his side this Sunday. He has made out with great gifts for the house, including a gas powered blower with gas can, a nice hose, an awesome sprinkler, a hand held sprayer, and a watering wand. Ben has been working so hard in school, at his job, and taking care of me that I felt he deserved a nice present this year, so I gave him a nice pair of sunglasses for his birthday present this year. He was very excited and surprised! I also made a stop in Babies R Us the other day and had to buy a couple shirts. There was one polo shirt I had to get that looked like a mini version of one of Ben's shirts, so Connor can be a mini me of Ben, haha.

Lil Tumbler

29 Weeks!!!
I am 29 weeks along today. I am feeling pretty good, just tired and hungry :) I have been trying new recipes and cooking yummy food, according to Ben. Connor is definitely a lil tumbler in my belly. He punches and kicks occasionally, but lately he likes to do somersaults and move from side to side and up and down. Ben and I will lay here and watch my belly move all kids of weird ways. He is getting so much stronger, but I love it! Here is what Babycenter says about the growth this week.

Your baby now weighs about 2 1/2 pounds (like a butternut squash) and is a tad over 15 inches long from head to heel. His muscles and lungs are continuing to mature, and his head is growing bigger to make room for his developing brain. To meet his increasing nutritional demands, you'll need plenty of protein, vitamins C, folic acid, and iron. And because his bones are soaking up lots of calcium, be sure to drink your milk (or find another good source of calcium, such as cheese, yogurt, or enriched orange juice). This trimester, about 250 milligrams of calcium are deposited in your baby's hardening skeleton each day.

Had to pose :)

Hee Hee Hoo & The House

Today we went to our birthing class from 8:30 to 3:00 at the hospital. We learned so informational stuff and got to tour the hospital. We saw the birthing room, which was nice, and the nursery. They explained how everything would happen, terms we might hear them saying, and procedures that may need to happen. Some of the videos were a little much for me, but I feel very informed and a little more prepared now. Ben and I practiced some breathing and birthing exercises. He was such a great partner, and it made me feel more comfortable with everything to come. We practiced our "hee hee hoo" breathing and massage techniques. After our class, we drove out to our house since we hadn't been out there since last week. We were so excited to see what has been done since the last time we went. We walked around and took pictures of everything! It looked so much bigger and on the path to being complete. The had up all the wood framing, most of the hardy (not painted the color yet), most of the windows and doors, the wood to begin roofing soon, and the plumbing. Next they should finish up those things, then the roof and brick will go up.

Beginning of Third (and Final) Trimester

28 Weeks!!!

Today I am 28 weeks, so this marks the beginning of the third trimester and the seventh month. I can definitely feel him moving more, and he is much stronger. I can actually see my belly move sometimes, and I love it! I had my check-up yesterday, and everything went great. His heartbeat was 147, and he hit or kicked the monitor again. Too funny! My weight and blood pressure was good as well. I measured a little over 29 weeks, so still a big baby :) I will go back for another check-up on April 25th, then we have a growth ultrasound on May 9th. We will get to see him, and find out how much he weighs at that time. This will help them determine how big he might be at birth, and how we might go about the delivery. Ben and I have our birthing class this Saturday. We get to do a hospital tour and learn breathing and delivery exercises to start getting prepared. One website tells me that Connor is the length and weight of a Chinese Cabbage and another website tells me that he is the length of a pumpkin. Our house is coming along nicely as well. Everything went great with the foundation, and they started framing Monday. My kids at work are very excited about the baby too. They are so cute asking me, "How is your baby?" and touching my belly gently. Today a student brought me a cute outfit for him, which was so sweet. Another student drew me a picture of our baby, which was hilarious. I had to take a picture of his drawing, so you can see it below. Here is my update from Baby Center and some pictures:
By this week, your baby weighs two and a quarter pounds (like a Chinese cabbage) and measures 14.8 inches from the top of his head to his heels. He can blink his eyes, which now sport lashes. With his eyesight developing, he may be able to see the light that filters in through your womb. He's also developing billions of neurons in his brain and adding more body fat in preparation for life in the outside world.

The picture my student drew of our baby, hahaha!
