26 Weeks!

I am 26 weeks today, and I still feel good. Just tired and little burps all day long, haha. I heard the old wive's tale says that burping means he will have a lot of hair...... we will see. Right now the burps are just kind of annoying and give me heartburn, so I have Tums on standby. We also drove out past our house today to take a look at the beginning of our home. It made us so excited and happy!
Here is what Baby Center says about Connor's development this week:
The network of nerves in your baby's ears is better developed and more sensitive than before. He may now be able to hear both your voice and your partner's as you chat with each other. He's inhaling and exhaling small amounts of amniotic fluid, which is essential for the development of his lungs. These so-called breathing movements are also good practice for when he's born and takes that first gulp of air. And he's continuing to put on baby fat. He now weighs about a pound and two-thirds and measures 14 inches (an English hothouse cucumber) from head to heel. If you're having a boy, his testicles are beginning to descend into his scrotum — a trip that will take about two to three days.

Doctor Visit

I went to the doctor today for my glucose test and my check up. I got there about 8:15 and chugged an orange drink. I had to wait an hour before they could take my blood, so I had my doctor's appointment in between. My weight and blood pressure were good. I have gained about 4 pounds total so far. The nurse went to listen to the heartbeat and Connor hit the device really hard, so she had to readjust. His heartbeat was good at 147. Next I met with the doctor and she asked me if I had any questions or concerned. Then she measured my stomach, and before she told me what the measurement was, she said, "Well, you will probably have a big baby." I told her that I keep hearing that, haha. I will be 26 weeks tomorrow, but my stomach measured 28 weeks. She said they are not concerned if you measure 2 cm below or above because it could be how the baby is positioned at the time or it may just be a big baby :) After my check-up, i made my next appointment since I start going about every 2 weeks now. My next appointment is a check-up and then on May 9th, we will have another ultrasound to check my placenta and the growth and size of Connor. After my hour was up, I went to the back and had my blood drawn. I should know by Wednesday the results of my glucose test. I am praying and hoping that it comes back negative. So everything seems great so far, and I was happy after the visit.

Jordan is Here!!!

Jordan Marie Haley is here!!!
Jordan Marie Haley was born on March 23, 2011. When she was born, she weighed in at 9 pounds and was a little over 20 inches long. Shannon went past her due date, so the doctor had her go to the hospital Tuesday night. She went in and started some medicine to help her start labor. After strong contractions, her water being broken, and medicine to help her, Jordan was too large to deliver. After discussing a c-section with Shannon and Jason, the doctor scheduled a c-section within minutes that Wednesday night. Jordan was born that night, and she is beautiful! She opens her eyes a lot, moves and lifts her head, and is doing great with feeding. We drove up after work Thursday night to meet her and spend time with Shannon, Jason, and family. We stayed up there Friday, and headed home early Saturday morning. We got lots of pictures and a few videos, and I can't stop looking at them. This definitely got Ben really excited about Connor coming. We are so excited for Jordan and Connor to be best friends just like their parents are.

25 Weeks!!!

I am 25 weeks along today, and my bump is getting bigger by the day!!! It is crazy in the past 2 weeks how much my belly has grown. Connor was going crazy the other night, so I lifted my shirt to see if I could catch a glimpse of movement. Sure enough, my stomach moved like a wave! It was so weird, but cool! I think our dog, Sampson, can tell something is going on now. The other day he got on the bed with me and laid his head on my leg right by my tummy. It was so sweet! We are still excited and anxiously anticipating moving into our new home. We cannot wait! We keep naming all the things we will not miss about apartment living, living the stairs, parking, the space, etc. We are also excited because our besties are going to the hospital tonight to begin the process to welcome their baby girl very soon. She does not want to leave her mom's belly yet, but she is nine pounds already and past her due date, so it is time! We are going up Thursday night to meet her and see Shannon and Jason! So many exciting things are going on right now in our lives. We are truly blessed!
Here is what BabyCenter says this week:
Head to heels, your baby now measures about 13 1/2 inches. His weight — a pound and a half — isn't much more than an average rutabaga, but he's beginning to exchange his long, lean look for some baby fat. As he does, his wrinkled skin will begin to smooth out and he'll start to look more and more like a newborn. He's also growing more hair — and if you could see it, you'd now be able to discern its color and texture.

25 Weeks! ( Sampson wanted me to throw his toy, haha.)

Ben wanted to take a close up at 24 weeks.

Is There a Moonwalk in My Belly?

I am 24 1/2 weeks now, and Connor is moving around full force now. He is moving so much more often, and he is much stronger. Ben can almost always feel him as long as he is kicking and punching. Other times it just feels like he is swimming around from side to side, back to front. He started this new thing where he likes to fight with the bed when I lay down. If I lay on my side to sleep, he moves to that side and starts punching and kicking the bed over and over again. When I roll over to my other side, he moves to that side and fights the bed on that side.  Maybe a future MMA fight???? Hahaha! It is great to be on Spring Break this week. I feel like I got to rest and get things done. I have filled out and sent all the paperwork for the house today, so now things should move along nicely. We are super excited to raise Connor in our new home!!!
Also, this week I went with my friend Kaci to pick out letters to hang above his crib. She was nice enough to offer to make the letters, and she sent me pictures of what they look like. They are super cute, and I'm excited to hang them.
Also big news this week: Our besties, Shannon and Jason, are waiting for their baby girl to arrive soon. She was supposed to arrive this Saturday, but if she decides to hang out a little longer in Shannon's belly, they will induce Tuesday or Wednesday. YAY!!!! Can't wait to meet Connor's future girlfriend :)

Here is what the Babycenter website says about baby Connor during this week.

Your baby's growing steadily, having gained about 4 ounces since last week. That puts him at just over a pound. Since he's almost a foot long (picture an ear of corn), he cuts a pretty lean figure at this point, but his body is filling out proportionally and he'll soon start to plump up. His brain is also growing quickly now, and his taste buds are continuing to develop. His lungs are developing "branches" of the respiratory "tree" as well as cells that produce surfactant, a substance that will help his air sacs inflate once he hits the outside world. His skin is still thin
and translucent, but that will start to change soon.

The thank you cards that I found and had to get!

Had to get these! They were too cute! Two sleepers, socks, and mittens.

Home Owners!!!

Everyone knows we have been looking for a home for the past year, and now that Connor is coming soon, we have been in house hunting overdrive. We had appointments to view homes last week and this weekend again. We were on our way to grab lunch in between appointments when we passed this neighborhood. I thought to myself, "That looks nice, but there is no way we can afford that." After looking through a list of homes that a realtor gave us, I told Ben that we just passed a neighborhood and there is a new home in there in our budget, so we called her back to go check it out. We looked at a good home in that neighborhood with the builder. but we would have preferred a bigger backyard and a few different appliances and things, so we started asking about building a new home. They had 1 large lot left, so we decided to price out an estimate with the upgrades. After adding in all the upgrades we wanted, we ended up still under budget. We talked and we both felt it fit us perfect and felt really right and good, so we decided to go ahead and go for it! We were approved and we picked out everything in our new home. We picked the brick, hardy, roof, counters, doors, tile, backsplash, carpet, cabinets, back porch, energy efficient windows, roof, walls, and so much more. The home is in a subdivision called Lakepointe which is a part of Villages of Cypress Lakes in Fairfield area. It is off Mueschke in between Spring Cypress and 290. We are very happy and excited to move in May! We cannot wait, and are very excited and blessed!!!

Cheese Anyone?

I am in my 22nd week now, and I am feeling good. I am definitely feeling him move a lot more often now. I can't wait for Ben to be able to feel him too. I have noticed that I am craving cheese in any form more often now. :) I love fried cheese, queso, string cheese, any kind of cheese, haha. Also, I crave really anything that sounds good and random things that I have not eaten in forever, like pound cake the other night, haha. I have also started going on walks with Ben and Sampson to help me out in the long run.

Swim shirt and hat I got him. He is going to be a swimmer.

Onesies I had to get him because of the little elephants.
