Love Our Little Man

Our little guy is growing more and more every day. He is so much longer, and he is definitely packing on the pounds, or ounces I should say. I can't wait to see how much he has grown the next time we go to the doctor. Connor has slept great in his crib the past few nights. He is only waking up about 2 times in the night now. He wakes up around 2:00 and 5:00 to eat. Then he wakes up around 7:30 or 8:00 for the day. Connor LOVES going on walks in his stroller and for car rides! He enjoys playtime in the mornings with Mommy and dancing around with Daddy on the weekends. On weekdays, it is Connor and Mommy until Ben gets home from work. We hang out all day, have play and tummy time in the morning, watch TV together, and keep Connor fed and happy. Today I was making noises and faces at Connor, and he smiled at me for the first time! It was so wonderful! I started crying out of excitement, and immediately called Ben to tell him. He has smiled in his sleep while dreaming, but this was the first time he smiled knowingly. This Sunday is our 1st wedding anniversary, so Saturday we are going to a nice dinner to celebrate. This will be the first time I will leave Connor, so I have mixed feelings about it. It will be fun and nice to have alone time with Ben, but I will miss my little guy. Here are some pictures from the past couple of weeks.

1 Month Old

This past Sunday Connor turned 1 month old! We can't believe it has already been a month. He has changed so much. He is getting longer and definitely putting on more weight. Some of his newborn clothes are already too short. I love all the faces he makes, and it makes me wonder what he is thinking. My favorite face is when he smiles so big! I know it is just a reflex, but it is the cutest smile ever! He is sleeping better at night and eating a lot more! This past weekend was fun because our best friends, Shannon and Jason, came to visit with their daughter Jordan. It was great having our two little families here hanging out. I am enjoying being at home with Connor and spending quality time with him. He is more alert, and he recognizes our voices. We took him for a mini walk to the mailbox the other night, and he loves the stroller. We are enjoying every moment with our little guy!

Life Lately

It has been awhile since I have had a chance to post anything. We have been busy busy taking care of our new baby boy. I cannot believe he is already 3 weeks old. I feel like he looks completely different than the day he was born, so we are trying to take as many pictures as possible to savor every moment. In the past 3 weeks, a lot has happened. Connor has lost his ring and his lil pee pee is doing great, and his umbilical cord fell off as well. Connor had his 2 week check-up at the doctor. Everything went great! He did not like getting naked to get weighed, but we got through it. He had already gained a pound and grew 2 inches. He weighed 7.6 pounds and measured 20 1/2 inches, but I know he has gained and grown more since then. I asked them doctor my entire list full of questions, and she was so nice to answer all of them without getting annoyed. She was pleased with his color and was not worried about jaundice anymore, which was a relief. Then I had to take him to another room to get his blood drawn. He did not mind the heel pricks, but he hated the nurse squeezing his foot over and over again.
In the past 3 weeks, we have been enjoying hanging out as our little family at home. We have had lots of visitors to see our little man as well. Connor has been eating about every 3 hours, but sometimes he will sleep about 4-5 hours through the night (which makes me really excited). He was eating 2 ounces, but this past week he has been eating about 3 ounces every feeding. I call him my little hungry hungry hippo :) Now that his cord feel off, we could start giving him "real" baths. We were excited to see that he LOVES baths!!! This is one of favorite times with him now. When he sleeps, he makes these faces that make my heart melt. My favorite is when he gives me a huge smile for a few seconds! I can't explain the feelings and love I have for my little man, but it is like no love that I have ever felt before.
