We went to the doctor on Monday, January 24th for an ultrasound and doctor's appointment. When we first saw HIM (so glad I can say that now), he was laying stomach down. Once she started pushing down, he flipped over. They counted all his fingers and toes, and all were there. Then before he started moving all around, she decided to see what the sex was. I had told her that everybody was telling me that we were having a boy. She told me that whoever told me that it was a boy was right! I said, "Are you sure?" She responded by saying, "OH yeah." Then I looked over and Ben had a HUGE grin on his face! She showed us all the boy parts, and they were clear as day. After that, she showed us his brain, heart, lungs, liver, spine, bones, and it was all great! His heart rate this time was 140, which she said was good. Then she tried about 4 times to get a good 4D picture, but he decided he did not want anymore pictures and began flipping around and punching and kicking. After that, she checked my placenta and things to make sure everything looks okay. She did tell me that my placenta is low right now, and that we will have to keep an eye on that. Of course, I started freaking out, so I had to ask my doctor about that. She told me not to worry because 99% of the time by the third trimester, the placenta will move up. If it doesn't, I will still have a normal pregnancy, but the only change would be a C-section birth. It kind of bummed me out at first, but whatever I have to do to make sure this little boy is safe is good with me. They weighed me, and so far I have lost 3 pounds. This is due to the sickness that I have felt for sooooo long. I think now it is finally over (knock on wood).
Also, the informed me that he is longer AGAIN this time than he is supposed to be. They change my due date now to July 5, 2011, but he is measuring June 29th. They left my due date because I was told again that he might just be a big baby, AAAAHHHHHH :)! So we can expect baby BOY Huffman anytime the last week of June to the first week of July. We were soooo excited that we were having a boy, we went straight to Target and bought an outfit for him! Now, I am in full baby boy mode! I can't get off the internet looking at bedding, swings, cribs, and all that fun stuff. We are also looking at names, so we should have one narrowed down soon!
